SARAL JANKARI
Editorial Policy and Corrections
Saral Jankari explains government schemes, identity documents, tax and everyday money matters in plain language. Readers use these pages to make decisions about their money and paperwork, so we hold ourselves to a clear standard. This page explains how our guides are made and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
Who we are
Saral Jankari is an independent information website. We are not a government body and we are not connected to any government department, bank or insurer. We do not process applications, collect documents or take payments. Wherever a guide points you to an official portal, you complete the process there, not with us.
How we research a guide
- Official sources come first. We start from government notifications, scheme guidelines, regulator circulars and official portals, such as the Income Tax Department, EPFO, UIDAI, NPCI, RBI, IRDAI and the relevant ministries.
- Other sources are cross-checks. News reports and explainers from financial websites help us spot recent changes, but we try not to rely on them alone for rules, rates or limits. Every guide ends with a list of the sources we used.
- We say when something is uncertain. If a rule differs by state, is newly changed or has not been fully clarified, the guide says so instead of presenting a guess as fact.
- We avoid personal advice. Guides explain how things work and what options exist. They do not tell you which financial product to buy or what medical treatment to take.
Keeping guides up to date
Rules, interest rates and deadlines change. Every guide shows a “Last checked” date at the end. Interest rates such as PPF and Sukanya Samriddhi are revised every quarter, and tax slabs change with each Budget, so we review those pages when announcements are made. If a guide looks out of date, please tell us.
Calculators
Our calculators give estimates based on the rules and rates stated on each page. Your actual figure can differ because of your bank or post office, your exact dates of deposit, your total income or other factors. Use them to plan, and confirm final numbers with the official source or a qualified professional.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, a broken link or information that is out of date, email us at info@saraljankari.in. Please include the page address and, if you can, a link to the official source. We aim to review reports within a few working days. When we confirm an error, we correct the page and update its “Last checked” date.
Advertising and independence
This site may show advertisements, including through Google AdSense. Advertisers do not decide what we write, and we do not accept payment to favour a bank, insurer or product in our guides. Our Privacy Policy explains how data and cookies are used, and our Disclaimer explains the limits of the information we provide.
